ExWHUemployee has claimed that Rangers have already shown interest in snapping up Jack Wilshere after his release from West Ham.

The 28-year-old midfielder terminated his contract by mutual consent with the Hammers tonight.

He is obviously now a free agent.

And ExWHUemployee reckons that Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has already expressed an interest in bringing him to Ibrox…

Some background on ExWHUemployee for Rangers fans. He is arguably the most well-informed West Ham in the know account on Twitter. And he is very rarely proved wrong.

Wilshere claimed on Twitter earlier this evening that he has been fit to play over the last eight months.

And if that is true, he may well be a decent option for Rangers, albeit a risky one.

The 28-year-old has really struggled with injuries over the past five or six years, however. And that is such a shame considering how much talent and promise the 28-year-old had when he burst through the ranks at Arsenal.

The 34-capped England international midfielder can be as good as anyone on his day. And he might just flourish playing for Rangers.

Given the fact that he will be playing for one of the two superior teams in the division, he will get far more of the ball and may be able to dictate the tempo of games in the Scottish Premiership.

Whether Rangers will be prepared to offer Wilshere big enough wages to tempt him into moving to Scotland, however, remains to be seen.
