West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini has been called up to the Argentina national team. Ex-Hammers defender Lionel Scaloni is the Argentina manager and he has selected Lanzini in his latest squad.
Argentina have two friendly matches coming up as they face Chile and Mexico in early September. Lanzini was not included for his country’s Copa America campaign, which ended in disappointment. But he now has the chance to break back into the side.

Lanzini has played four times for Argentina and scored one goal. His pre-season form and assist against Brighton have earned him a recall to the Argentina squad. He will be hoping for better luck than last time.
The 26-year-old was set for a starring role alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero at the 2018 World Cup. But just before the tournament started, Lanzini suffered an ACL injury which kept him out until February.
West Ham fans are only just starting to see the best of Lanzini as he continues to recover. But many supporters have expressed their concern that he might get injured on international duty again.
