West Ham face an incredibly important summer transfer window with a mass exodus on the cards at the London Stadium.

Hammers boss David Moyes endured a miserable January transfer window and now he has it all to do in the summer.

The East London outfit toiled during the window. We were linked with a plethora of top-class players but it all culminated in zero arrivals on deadline day.

It really was incredibly frustrating for the West Ham fans. We all knew what Moyes needed. The Scot would have known himself as well.

But alas, the Hammers transfer negotiators (Sullivan?) failed to get the job done for the manager.

It was bad enough not signing anybody considering the fact that we’re fighting on three fronts this season but look six months into the future, and it seems even worse.

Huge summer overhaul needed at West Ham

The Hammers have one of the thinnest squads in the Premier League as things stand.

And it could be set to get a whole lot thinner.

West Ham could incredibly part ways with up to SEVEN senior players in the summer transfer window.

Andriy Yarmolenko and Ryan Fredericks will almost certainly leave on free transfers at the end of this season.

Meanwhile, Moyes will most probably try to sell Arthur Masuaku (RMC Sport), Issa Diop (The Sun) and Darren Randolph (The Daily Mail).

And finally, Mark Noble is set to retire whilst Alex Kral will surely head back to Spartak Moscow having failed to impress during his loan spell at the London Stadium thus far.

In January, it could be argued that West Ham were at least three players short of having a squad capable of challenging on all fronts.

With seven players set to leave in the summer, Moyes now needs to bring 10 players in! Obviously we won’t be buying 10 new players, so he will have to promote some exciting youngsters from within.

The Scot will certainly need to bring in five new arrivals at the very least in the summer though. That’s why January was so frustrating. It was a completely wasted month and it has now put us right behind the 8-ball for the summer.

One thing’s for sure, the summer transfer window will be one heck of a ride for the fans. Hopefully it will be a successful one in the end but it won’t be easy.

January is always a hard window to get deals done. But the summer may be even harder now, considering the sheer volume of players Moyes needs to sign.
