The Hammers have made a fine start to their 2020/21 Premier League campaign.

We are currently sitting in seventh spot in the table having taken 21 points from 13 games.

A win against Chelsea on Monday night would see us eclipse our point tally from the same stage in the 2015/16 season when we ended up finishing in seventh position, just four points adrift of the Champions League places.

Things are looking really bright at the London Stadium. David Moyes seems to have transformed the culture at West Ham. And if we manage to keep hold of our best players over the next couple of years, the sky will be the limit.

“Well everybody at the start of the year thought that if they finished half-way it would be a great season for them. David has done a wonderful job for them. I can certainly see them getting a top half finish this year. If they can make the top six it would be a big bonus.”

I would like to think that we can aim higher than 10th.

If David Moyes makes one or two quality additions in January, a top six finish should be well within our grasp.

Whether the West Ham board have the ambition needed to back the Scot, however, is another debate all together.

Whatever happens, at least we are competitive this season. And that is a really refreshing change after the turgid last few campaigns.
