According to a report from the Mirror, Tottenham are the latest club to join the race to sign Brentford winger Said Benrahma. And that might just present West Ham boss David Moyes with a real problem.
David Moyes will be on the look-out for some attacking reinforcements this summer.
ExWHUemployee recently claimed that the Hammers could sell Felipe Anderson, Manuel Lanzini and Andriy Yarmolenko.
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho will want to add some real quality his his front-line at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium as well.
And the Mirror suggests that Tottenham have thrown their hat in the ring for Brentford’s £25 million-rated Said Benrahma. In fact, it is claimed that the north London outfit have actually stolen a march on their rivals.
Leeds’ reported interest in the Algerian ace (Mirror) was already a complication for West Ham. But Spurs now joining the race to sign the Bees star will present David Moyes with another unwanted problem.
The 24-year-old was in sizzling form for the Bees this season, with 17 goals and 10 assists to his name in 46 games (Transfermarkt).
In those 46 outings, Benrahma averaged 3.8 shots, 2.1 key passes and three dribbles per game (Who Scored).
The Algeria international is clearly ready to make the jump up to the Premier League. The winger is an exceptional footballer, and he will surely flourish in the top flight.
West Ham boss David Moyes will have his work cut out if he is to bring him to the London Stadium, however.
Competing with Leeds for the 24-year-old’s signature would have been hard enough. But Tottenham’s reported interest now makes things even harder for the Hammers.
