Some West Ham United fans are calling for David Moyes to be sacked after the no contest against Manchester City.
West Ham were comfortably beaten 2-0 in what became a training exercise for City.
Moyes set up the Hammers for damage limitation. And it showed as the visitors did not register a single shot on target.
Moyes under fire
The Scot’s negative tactics and bizarre team selection have raised eyebrows since his controversial return to West Ham.
The Hammers should be fighting for their lives with Premier League survival at stake.
Instead the East Londoners are weak, meek and surrendering points against teams they should be beating.
West Ham sleepwalking towards relegation
And West Ham are turning up to games against top opposition with no intention of competing for all three points and merely hoping not to get a hiding.
Moyes’s treatment of Pablo Fornals – who was the club’s best player during a torrid winter before the new manager arrived – has also left fans baffled.
A large section of West Ham fans did not want Moyes back.
And a growing number of supporters are calling for him to be sacked, questioning why they got rid of Manuel Pellegrini in the first place.
Fans have been taking to online forums, social media and radio phone-ins to vent their frustrations.
Twitter in particular was flooded with calls for Moyes to be sacked after the City defeat.
And many are calling for Sam Allardyce to be brought back to save the club.
Growing number of fans call for Moyes to be sacked
Here are a selection of comments from West Ham fans on Twitter.
I never wanted him as manager and was very public in saying this

I know this is controversial and highly unlikely but I think I would sack David Moyes. He isn’t the man for us, I’m not sure he’s the man for anyone. He doesn’t know his best eleven OR his best formation and doesn’t have any in game management….#MoyesOut

I said it on the podcast last time we did one, I would even gamble on someone unproven but who might be able to inject some passion and fight. There has to be someone out there who can give it a better go

Agree , I’d actually give it to allardyce till end of season. He’d keep us up and that the priority now

I don’t even think it is controversial Dave, I’ve said it from the start he is the worst manager in the premier league, beyond old fashioned. He makes Big Sam look like a progressive young manager. Moyes hasn’t been successful in football for a decade, let that sink in.

Little advice from a Sunderland fan- get rid pronto! Don’t let him help destroy another great club!

they wont do it mate, im starting to think sullivan can smell the cash he can make by selling every asset we have once we go down
— Nick Treadwell ⚒ (@Treaders1990) February 19, 2020
Should never of been employed again in the first place yet again cheap and cheerful square peg round hole solution and yet another step backwards I’ll be shocked if we stay up
— will earle (@willearle_) February 19, 2020
‘Only hope we have of staying up is Big Sam’
Can’t seem to motivate the players, tactically inept, we missed out massively on the “new manager” effect when we appointed him just another terrible decision on a long list of decisions by the board
— Birdy (@happyhammer25) February 19, 2020
@DaveWalkerWHU not controversial to me mate. Completely agree. Especially after that. All them players fit and he goes with the most negative side. What must the players have been thinking? What was the game plan for that team to win? Pathetic.

It’s not controversial at all, how many times have Watford changed their Manager this season and still look more likely to survive than we do right now.
— TheWestHamWayCoUk (@WestHamWaycouk) February 19, 2020
Idk about anyone else but the only hope we have of staying up is Big Sam!
— Bradley Sapsford⚒ (@bradsapsford) February 19, 2020
Spot on! @davidgold @jsullivanwhu @WestHam David Moyes was totally the wrong appointment a blind man could see that. He’s so defensive and a serial loser. We have an attacking team and he always sets up defensively. That’s not us. We can’t do that, which is why we are relegated
— Terry Adams (@hammertel78) February 19, 2020
Not controversial at all, 1 premier league win in what? 2 months? Simply not good enough. The number of games he had, pellegrini did better in his last games of that amount. Terrible appointment in the first place, got to own up and get him out
— Peter Finch (@Pfinch215) February 19, 2020
Not controversial, common sense. Should never, ever have been re-employed, the man is inept.
Theres no Arnautovic to save his skin this time, we are going out with a whimper.
— Nicky Hawkins (@nickyj82) February 19, 2020
Remind me again why did we sack Pellegrini??
