West Ham starlet Grady Diangana is eager to continue taking his chances with the first-team, whufc.com reports.
Diangana has spoken out about how much he is enjoying his role with the senior side.
And the young midfielder is keen to continue getting game time with the first-team.
Grady Diangana’s season
It has been a special breakthrough season for Diangana. The West Ham academy graduate had never played a senior match before this campaign but he is now well-known among Hammers fans.
The 20-year-old made his debut for West Ham, starting in the EFL Cup win over Macclesfield Town.
And he immediately endeared himself to fans, netting two goals in the 8-0 win at The London Stadium.
The following weekend, Diangana came on as a substitute against Manchester United, earning his first Premier League appearance.
And he was introduced against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday in the 40th minute.
Diangana on first-team chances
Speaking to West Ham TV, Diangana said: “For me, it was a surreal experience getting that many minutes, but the feeling was kind of overshadowed by the result.
“It showed that the staff and the manager believe in me, so I want to grasp every opportunity he gives me and continue to be able to get more opportunities.
“When you’re on the pitch, you try to be the best player you can be and want to be the best player on the pitch, so I’m just trying to get better and hopefully I’ll get that start soon.”
Diangana is a real bright spark and has looked lively when given chances.
The talented youngster needs to grasp his first-team opportunity now, though, with Andriy Yarmolenko out injured.
This is the perfect time for Diangana to show everyone that he is ready for a permanent role in Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
