Gary Neville suggested that David Moyes would have been just as proud of West Ham’s second-half display as he was of their first-half performance, when speaking during Sky Sports’ broadcast of last night’s game against Watford.

The Hammers were quite simply brilliant in the first-half against the Hornets.
Moyes’s men led early through a Michail Antonio strike, before Tomas Soucek made it two inside 10 minutes.
Declan Rice then scored an absolute belter from 30 yards out, and West Ham went in at half-time leading Watford 3-0.
The Hammers were comfortable and seemed to be well in control of the game. The players had a certain swagger that has been rarely seen this season.
Game of two halves
It all changed in the second-half, however. Watford got an early goal back, and they bombarded West Ham for a good 15-20 minutes.
The Hammers eventually saw the game out, however, and Neville suggested that Moyes would have been delighted with his side’s second-half performance, when speaking during Sky Sports’ broadcast of the match (Friday July 17th, 21:52):
“I think David Moyes will be equally as proud of the second-half in some ways, because after conceding the early goal they could easily have gone under and had a panicky second-half. But his team have demonstrated some real composure and control to get through what could have been a really difficult last half an hour.”
It certainly was an interesting observation from Neville. West Ham really did well to knuckle down and repel all of Watford’s second-half pressure.
Every player was committed, strong in the challenge and gave 100 per cent to the cause.
The Hammers have Premier League safety all but assured. And they now need to take that attitude on into next season.
