West Ham have real problems in the left-back department.

Arthur Masuaku is clearly better when deployed further forward and Aaron Cresswell lacks consistency both with his form and fitness.

Manuel Pellegrini should really be targeting the signing of a top class left-back either in January or next summer.

And there could be a great option out there for him.

Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport claims that AC Milan are prepared to sell Ricardo Rodriguez for just £8 million in January, in an effort to free up funds to bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic back to the San Siro.

And the 70-capped Switzerland international would be a truly excellent addition for West Ham.

At 27, Rodriguez still has plenty of years left ahead of him playing at the highest level.

He is quick along the ground, tenacious in the tackle, and he also possesses exceptional technique for a defender.

The Milan ace is a set-piece specialist – something that the Hammers have really lacked since Dimitri Payet left the London Stadium.

Rodriguez would offer West Ham an entirely different threat down the left hand side too with his ability to get forward.

For just £8 million, the Hammers cannot afford to miss out on the Swiss ace.

He could end up being a really significant signing for West Ham.
