West Ham United fans have welcomed reports that hero James Collins could return to the club but they are still angry with the owners.
The hugely popular former Hammers defender told BBC Sport last week that he was disappointed at the manner of his exit from the club last summer.
The Ginger Pele told BBC Sport he ‘would have liked to have said goodbyes’ before leaving the club he served for 10 years.

Collins comments re-opens old wound
That re-opened a wound for West Ham supporters who were equally disappointed at the nature of the cult hero’s exit.
So West Ham fans welcomed news from Football Insider and reliable insider ExWHUemployee last week.
Both sources claim the club’s co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold are ‘working to smooth relations with Collins’ by inviting him to a game to in order to appear on the pitch at half-time and say a ‘proper goodbye’.
Not only that, but Collins will also be offered a role as a West Ham ambassador.
Of course the Hammers faithful welcome the news.

Hero offered return?
But many feel it is too little too late from Sullivan and Gold if reactions on Twitter are anything to go by.
The general consensus is that West Ham’s owners lack true class.
Many fans feel the club is too often reactionary and rarely ahead of the curve when it comes to decision making and doing the right thing.
