West Ham fans have been discussing who could end up being voted Hammer of the Year.
Despite there still being a sizeable chunk of the season left, West Ham’s official Twitter account asked fans who their player of the year was so far.
The response overwhelmingly favoured last summer’s key signing Lukasz Fabianski. Without the Poland international in goal, West Ham’s league position would be considerably worse.
With 101 saves in the top flight this season, Fabianski tops the charts in terms of most Premier League saves (premierleague.com).
Declan Rice’s name was also mentioned a few times. The 20-year-old has been superb in defensive midfield with his consistent performances.
It has been a big season for Rice, who chose to pick England over the Republic of Ireland, as well as signing a new long-term deal.
Issa Diop, Felipe Anderson and Robert Snodgrass were among the other names mentioned by fans on Twitter.
Below are some tweets finishing the following sentence: “My player of the season of the season so far is…”
Rice or Fabianski with an honourable mention to Anderson.

Fabianski or Anderson for me. One has been solid and an utter professional the other has taken on a challenge, improved considerably and been a shining light amongst some tough times.
