The Hammers earned a massive three points against Chelsea at the London Stadium last night. That was in despite of a first-half setback after a highly controversial VAR ruling.

And David Moyes will be delighted with the manner in which his West Ham side still went on to win the game.

The east London outfit now need to re-focus, however.

They face an in-form Newcastle side on Saturday. And a defeat against the Magpies would pile the pressure back on Moyes and his players.

It seems as though there is some good news on the horizon, however.

ExWHUemployee has claimed on Twitter that West Ham could have three first-team players back and available for selection for the game at St James’ Park:

Now, Haller has had his critics this season. But it has been clear to see how much West Ham have missed him during his absence.

The Frenchman holds the ball up and brings others in to play. He has also won more aerial duals than any other player in the Premier League this season, and by quite some way (premierleague.com).

Masuaku, meanwhile, divides opinion amongst Hammers fans. He isn’t a great defender, but he offers a lot going forward. And considering Aaron Cresswell’s woeful recent form, having the 26-year-old back will be a big boost for Moyes.

Noble is another player who divides opinion. There is no debate about his importance to the team as far as leadership goes. But his powers as a player are clearly waning.

Newcastle away, however, is a game where West Ham will need as many leaders on the pitch as possible. And the 33-year-old club captain could be tailor made for that match.

All in all, it’s good news for West Ham. Let’s just hope the boys manage to pick up another positive result on Sunday.
