ExWHUemployee has suggested that West Ham boss David Moyes simply prefers Michail Antonio’s work-rate to Sebastien Haller’s, and that is why the Frenchman keeps getting left on the bench for Premier League games.

The 26-year-old joined the Hammers from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2019 for around £45 million (BBC).
He has really struggled to establish himself in east London, however. It must be said, however, that the Frenchman hasn’t been given enough chances nor has he been given the support that he requires to flourish.
Since David Moyes took over at the London Stadium as manager of West Ham, Haller has started just eight league games from a possible 21. And he has started from the bench in every one of the Hammers’ last 11 Premier League matches.
And ExWHUemployee has suggested that Haller’s recent omissions have come about because Moyes likes to play just one up top and prefers Michail Antonio’s work-rate:

Baffling Moyes decision-making
David Moyes is such a dinosaur, and he has no place managing a Premier League football club.
Haller was exceptional when played alongside Luka Jovic for Eintracht Frankfurt.
We have nothing against Michail Antonio. He works his socks off and we love him here at Hammers News.
But he just is not a striker, whatever way you look at it. Playing Antonio alongside Haller would make us a such a threat and no defence would want to play against those two.
Moyes is stuck in a bygone era. The Scot is sleepwalking us towards another relegation battle. And because of our anger with the board, many of us have forgotten about Moyes’s inability to cope at the very highest level.
If he continues to leave Haller on the bench, there is no reason why West Ham should keep him as manager. Moyes continues to let us down with his team selection and tactics.
Last night we played well against Arsenal, so it’s hard to criticise. But would we have won the game had Haller been played alongside Antonio? There is a good chance considering how much control we had of the game in the second-half.
The West Ham boss has to be more positive and start playing the 26-year-old Frenchman up front as part of a two. Otherwise it is hard to envisage Haller staying in east London for too much longer.
