ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham are in fact keen to sign Barcelona right-back Moussa Wague this summer, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night (Thursday, July 16th).
In other news…’Awful’: Some West Ham fans want David Moyes to sell player who has no confidence
Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo claimed two days ago that the Hammers are actually in talks to sign the 21-year-old Barca ace.
And Ex has now backed that up:
“Yes there is some legs in Moussa Wague, we’ve scouted him a number of times. I brought his name to the table in January and we are very keen on him. He will be on the radar.”
West Ham boss David Moyes will be desperate to bolster his right-back department at the London Stadium this summer.
Ryan Fredericks has been poor since joining the Hammers. And with Jeremy Ngakia and Pablo Zabaleta having already left, Barcelona ace Moussa Wague could be a very useful option for Moyes.
Potential bargain
The 21-year-old joined Ligue 1 outfit Nice on deadline day in January, but due to the global health crisis, he only played five games for them.
Wague obviously has a lot of potential, however. Barcelona inserted a £90 million buy-out clause into his contract when they signed him two years ago after all (Daily Mail).
And West Ham could pick him up for just £9.1 million now, according to Mundo Deportivo.
That’s good value whatever way you look at it.
And judging by the claim made by ExWHUemployee, Wague could be plying his trade at the London Stadium next season.
