Former West Ham striker Toni Martinez has scored in three consecutive matches for FC Famalicao.

Martinez found the net against Moreirense to make it three in three. Since leaving West Ham to move to Portugal in the summer, Martinez has scored four times in 10 league games with one assist to his name too.

He scored on his debut against Santa Clara. However, the 22-year-old had to wait until late October for his next strike. In the past three matches, he has found the net against Gil Vicente, Braga and Moreirense.

West Ham struggle for goals

While Martinez is impressing in Portugal, West Ham are struggling for goals. Manuel Pellegrini decided to sell all of the club’s strikers from last season and only two new players were signed.

Albian Ajeti and Sebastien Haller are the two recognised strikers on West Ham’s books. But Haller has not scored in several games with concerns about him being isolated. And Ajeti has not found the net yet.

Michail Antonio could bolster the strikeforce after the international break but the Hammers’ struggles continue. West Ham have slid down the table into 16th place.

Martinez was probably not the answer for the Irons. Despite impressing in the youth team, the Spaniard showed little sign of stepping up. But he is starting to show his goalscoring prowess now.
