Declan Rice has responded to a post from £30m star Nayef Aguerd after his amazing return following a serious ankle injury.

West Ham splashed out £170m on eight quality signings in the summer.

And £30m of that was spent on West Ham’s first arrival of the window, Morocco star Aguerd from Rennes.

Unfortunately West Ham fans and manager David Moyes have not seen much of the left-footed centre-back since.

The 26-year-old required ankle surgery after an injury in only his second West Ham appearance of pre-season against Rangers at Ibrox.

In Moyes’ own words – Aguerd is seen as one of West Ham’s most important signings of the window and fundamental to what the Scot is trying to build in this new-look Hammers side.

Aguerd recently started light training alone as part of his rehabilitation but was not expected back until – at the very best – the end of October or beginning of November.

But last week Moyes delivered an absolutely huge Aguerd update on his £30m ‘specimen’.

The Scot revealed that Aguerd is back on grass and was doing so well that he could join in team training this week.

The Hammers boss said his defender is in such good shape he may try to accelerate his return to the West Ham first team.

Well it seems he could do just that after West Ham revealed pictures of the Moroccan in training.

Now Declan Rice has responded to a post from £30m star Nayef Aguerd after his amazing West Ham return following injury.

Aguerd posted pictures of him in training with the rest of the team alongside flame and sand timer emojis saying: “Happy to be back on the pitch, loading…”

And captain Rice has responded saying: “Love to see it!!”

Moyes had issued his encouraging update and was spot on with his timeline for the defender.

“Aguerd is beginning to make his way.” Moyes said in his latest press conference on Wednesday afternoon.

“He’s doing a bit on the grass. I hope next week he can join bits of the football.

“He’s a pretty good specimen so he’s one I might try to push on quite quickly, but we need to get him some U23s games and stuff like that.”
