Declan Rice left hanging again…this time by Pablo Fornals

Declan Rice was left hanging again, this time by Pablo Fornals, after the Spaniard scored for West Ham against Aston Villa yesterday.

The Hammers earned an absolutely vital three points after our 2-1 victory over the Villans at the London Stadium. yesterday afternoon.

West Ham manager David Moyes would have been delighted with the manner in which his team ground out yet another important result.

The Hammers are well in the race for the top six and we have a Europa League last 16 second-leg clash with Sevilla to look forward to on Thursday night.

These really are great times to be a West Ham fan.

How far we have come since David Moyes was handed the reigns at the London Stadium for the second time way back in December 2019.

One of the things that makes the Hammers such a special football club is the close bond between the players. The West Ham players are always there for one another. Unfortunately for Declan Rice though, that wasn’t the case yesterday…

Declan Rice left hanging again

The Hammers’ second goal against Villa yesterday was set up by Said Benrahma and scored by Pablo Fornals but it was all made possible by Dec’s incredible, lung-bursting run from inside his own half.

After Fornals slotted home to make it 2-0 the West Ham players ran off to the corner to celebrate.

And as Dec went to give Pablo a high five, the Spaniard left him hanging. You can see the funny moment towards the end of the video below:

Rice has history with being left hanging.

The 23-year-old attempted to high five Harry Kane during England’s 2-0 win in Albania in March 2021:

And Dec may well be turned into a meme yet again it seems!

It’s part of what makes Declan Rice so relatable to the club’s fans. He’s just a normal bloke but one who is incredibly gifted and has an unbelievable talent for playing football.
