Ornstein has become known as The Oracle after regularly breaking transfer news usually concerning Arsenal. He is now the go to source for Gunners fans when it comes to transfer rumours.

But this time he has provided an update for Hammers and Spurs fans.

Ornstein, when writing a column for the Athletic, has claimed that West Ham are leading Tottenham in the race to sign Eberechi Eze.

And if true, that would be a huge boost for the east London outfit.

The Sun claimed earlier this year that the 22-year-old dreams of joining Tottenham, with Jose Mourinho keen to bring him to north London.

So if West Ham are leading their London rivals in the race to sign the QPR man, it would be quite a turnaround of events.

And Eze would be an absolutely brilliant addition for David Moyes at the London Stadium. And it seems as though the Hammers have a great chance to strike a real blow to Spurs.

Stats

The 22-year-old has racked up 13 goals and eight assists in 45 Championship outings for QPR (Transfermarkt).

In those outings, Eze has averaged 2.2 shots, 1.8 key passes and three dribbles per game (Who Scored).

The QPR ace is powerful, dynamic and energetic. He possesses all of the attributes needed to succeed at the very highest level of the game.

The Athletic claims that QPR did want around £20 million for the young English ace, but they may now be resigned to losing him for a lot less than that.

In fact, Claret and Hugh claims that the Hoops could sell Eze for just £12 million.

And if West Ham got him for that kind of money, it really would be sensational business. There would also be the added bonus of scuppering Jose Mourinho’s plans at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
