The 25-capped Czech Republic ace has been an absolute revelation since joining the Hammers on loan from Slavia Prague in January.

That loan move will become a permanent one when West Ham’s Premier League survival is mathematically assured, and it will cost them a further £13.5 million on top of the £3.5 million loan fee that they already laid out (The Guardian).

The 25-year-old has added some much needed energy, dynamism and athleticism to the Hammers’ midfield. And he already looks like an absolute steal.

Soucek has been vital for David Moyes since project restart.

In 11 Premier League games for West Ham, the Czech ace has scored three goals. He has made 23 tackles, 20 interceptions and 39 ball recoveries. The 25-year-old has won 92 individual duals and 63 aerial battles (premierleague.com).

And Moyes told reporters today that the Hammers may have struggled to avoid the drop without the all-action midfielder, as quoted by Football.London:

“The two boys we brought in during January, Soucek and Bowen, have done really well for us. Tomas is really starting to blossom. To join a club in the Premier League and to make an impact so quickly is not easy, it takes time. Tomas has certainly helped us. Without him I am not too sure we would have definitely remained a Premier League club.”

West Ham fans will be absolutely delighted when Soucek’s permanent move is officially announced.

The Czech really will be one of the bargains of the summer. He is incredibly popular at the London Stadium.

And Soucek could go on to become a West Ham legend.
