David Moyes suggested that Tomas Soucek could be ready to feature for West Ham against Newcastle at the London Stadium tomorrow, as quoted by Football.London.
In other news…’Lazy signing’: Some West Ham fans react to claims Moyes wants East London born PL ace
The 25-year-old joined the Hammers on loan in January from Slavia Prague. The east London outfit then made that deal a permanent one in July for around £19 million (Football.London).
And the 25-capped Czech Republic international has already established himself as a vital member of David Moyes’s side.
So it was a real blow for the Hammers when it was reported that Soucek could miss Saturday’s clash with Newcastle due to the fact that he had to self-isolate.
It appears that the powerful midfielder could now be available for selection, however, due to somewhat of a loophole, according to ExWHUemployee.
And Moyes responded when asked by reporters today if the 25-year-old will feature against the Magpies, as quoted by Football.London:
“Tomas is back, all fine. The problem happened in the Czech Republic but he’s been back a couple of days and trained, he’s OK. The disappointing thing from our point of view is two games that he has missed for fitness.”
With so many tough games on the horizon for the Hammers, three points against Newcastle will be absolutely vital.
And our chances of doing just that will increase drastically if Soucek starts.
The Czech ace has scored three goals in 13 games for West Ham. And he notched one in pre-season as well.
Soucek will have a key role to play for us this season. And he could end up being one of the signings of the summer.
Let’s just hope that he is ready to start against Newcastle tomorrow.
