David Moyes responds when asked if Manuel Lanzini will play vs Everton after terrifying car crash

David Moyes spoke to reporters this afternoon and provided an update on West Ham United ace Manuel Lanzini after yesterday’s car crash.

Lanzini was involved in a car crash on the A12 yesterday on the way to the Hammers’ Rush Green training ground.

The 29-year-old miraculously walked away from the crash unscathed as did all of the other passengers.

The chauffeur-driven Mercedes carrying Lanzini flipped over onto its roof and ended up in a ditch on the side of the road according to The Sun.

It obviously could have been so much worse for the Argentinian ace. Thank God he’s ok.

But is he ready to play against Everton on Sunday? David Moyes spilled the beans during his press conference this afternoon…

Moyes provides update after Lanzini car crash

West Ham play host to Everton at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Lanzini was a shoo-in to start the match, especially considering that he is unavailable for our Europe League quarter-final first-leg clash with Lyon on Thursday night through suspension.

After yesterday’s car crash, however, the Hammers fans were wondering whether Lanzini would be ok to face Everton.

Moyes spoke to reporters this afternoon and responded when asked about the West Ham ace, as quoted by Football.London:

“I can’t tell you what happened because I wasn’t there and only got the information you boys have got. The car went into a ditch off the road. He’s a bit sore but he’s OK. It was terrible. For any of us. We don’t want to go on too much about it. It happens in all walks of life. It happened to Manuel but he’s OK thankfully.”

As long as Manu is ok mentally, he should be just fine.

After such a terrifying car crash though, Lanzini may not be 100% and if he isn’t, Moyes might not start him against the Toffees on Sunday.

The Argentinian ace has been in exceptional form for West Ham since the turn of the year. We will need him to be firing on all cylinders between now and the end of the season if we are to enjoy success in the Premier League and on the continent.

Hopefully Lanzini is just fine following on from yesterday’s incident. And according to Moyes, he is. So that’s great news for the 29-year-old and the West Ham fans.
