According to a report from the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace have made the first move for West Ham and West Brom target Eberechi Eze. The Eagles’ £12 million bid has been rejected by Queens Park Rangers, however.
The Hammers have been tracking Eze since January, according to the Sun.
And Eze would be a truly exceptional addition for West Ham.
David Moyes has regularly stated that he wants to bring young and hungry players to the London Stadium this summer.
And the 22-year-old QPR ace fits the bill perfectly.
Eze has racked up 14 goals and eight assists in 46 Championship outings for QPR (Transfermarkt).
In those outings, the 22-year-old has averaged 2.2 shots, 1.8 key passes and three dribbles per game (Who Scored).
The QPR starlet is young, dynamic and has bundles of quality. He is exactly the type of signing the Hammers should be making.
The Daily Mail claims that QPR are holding out for £18 million for Eze, however. And that could be somewhat of a problem for West Ham, with it being widely reported that Moyes must sell before he can buy this summer.
Hopefully the Hammers manage to move on some of the deadwood asap, because missing out on Eze would be a real travesty for the east London outfit.
Especially if West Brom or Palace end up signing the 22-year-old talent.
