Darren Bent has offered high words of praise for West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca, after his recent goal against Wolves.

The 23-year-old joined the Hammers from Sassuolo for around £35 million in the summer transfer window (Sky Sports).
The Italian bagged three goals in his opening four UEFA Europa Conference League games but before Saturday, he was yet to open his account in the Premier League.

That all changed though after his thunderous strike that ripped into the back of the Wolves net.
Scamacca should really kick on now and is more than deserving of a regular place in David Moyes’s lineup. That’s a notion that has been echoed by one of talkSPORT’s pundits…
Darren Bent praises West Ham striker
The Italian is in direct competition with Michail Antonio to start for West Ham United this season.
The 32-year-old has been superb for the Hammers on the whole over the past couple of years, so Moyes has been well within his rights to stick with him from the start on the whole.
We do believe that Scamacca should have been given more minutes though. Easing him into action has made it almost impossible for him to find any kind of rhythm.
Despite seemingly lacking a bit of confidence at the start of the season, Scamacca really came into his own against Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.
The ex-Sassuolo ace displayed exceptional technical ability with his incredible strike that gave the Hammers the lead in the game.
Darren Bent told talkSPORT why he believes that Moyes now needs to be starting the 23-year-old hitman on a regular basis:

He’s someone to be fair who has impressed me since he’s been there. I know he’s played a lot of games in the Europa Conference, but when called upon he has scored goals. That finish at the weekend, outside of his boot, I know it took a slight nick of the defender’s head, but I think he’s somebody now that needs to be given a run of games, do you know what I mean? He definitely needs to be given a run of games. He scored a lot of goals last season for Sassuolo and I think he’ll be looking to get himself into the team. We know Antonio is their first pick but I think it’s time now to give Scamacca a go and I think he’ll score goals.
We totally agree with Darren Bent’s comments on the West Ham striker.
The 23-year-old has proven that he’s more than capable of being a big hit for the Hammers in the Premier League.
And not just with his brilliant goal against Wolves but his all around play and ability to hold the ball up.
If the Hammers are to achieve any kind of success this season, we think that Scamacca needs to be starting pretty much every game. In fact, it would be nice to see him and Antonio start together sometimes.
Darren Bent has nailed it with his comments on the West Ham ace. Whether David Moyes agrees with him is another matter entirely though.
