According to a report from the Athletic, West Ham could face competition from Rangers for Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram this summer.

Hammers boss David Moyes will be keen to bolster his midfield ranks at the London Stadium this summer. That is in spite of having already brought Tomas Soucek to the club on a permanent deal.

And the same applies to Gers manager Steven Gerrard at Ibrox.

The Athletic claims that John Lundstram could be a target for both clubs. And Chris Wilder is allegedly prepared to allow the 26-year-old Blades midfielder to leave Bramall Lane this summer, rather than risk losing him for nothing next year.

West Ham and Rangers will surely be tempted by the prospect of snapping up the Sheffield United ace for a bargain fee.

Stats

The 26-year-old joined Sheffield United in the summer of 2017 from Oxford United. And he has gone on to be a real hit for Chris Wilder at Bramall Lane.

Lundstram played a key role for the Blades this season, racking up five goals and three assists in 34 Premier League games (Transfermarkt).

The 26-year-old proved last season that he is more than capable of making a difference at the very highest level.

Lundstram would be a very useful addition for either West Ham or Rangers.

It just remains to be seen whether Moyes can convince the Blades ace that a move to the London Stadium would be more beneficial to his career than a move to Ibrox would be.
