Edimilson Fernandes has scored his first goal since West Ham sent him out on loan.

In yesterday’s Serie A clash against Udinese, Fernandes earned Fiorentina a point as he scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw.

It was an impressive finish from the young central midfielder, who sent a low drive into the bottom corner from outside the box.

Fernandes signed a four-year deal when he joined from FC Sion in summer 2016. And he played 48 games across two seasons with the Hammers.

The 22-year-old has scored one goal for West Ham, which was against Chelsea in the EFL Cup.

But Manuel Pellegrini did not rate the midfield man, opting to send him to Fiorentina on loan with an option to buy (London Evening Standard).

Fernandes’ time at Fiorentina has not been overly successful as he has one goal and no assists to his name in 21 games.

However, some West Ham fans still want to see the Switzerland international back at The London Stadium next season.

Below are some opinions on Fernandes’ possible return next summer.
