West Ham are preparing to offer Declan Rice a new £120k-a-week contract according to a report from the Daily Star. And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to those claims.

The Hammers starlet has been absolutely incredible for us over the past two seasons or so. He has undoubtedly been our best player. The fact that he played every single minute of every Premier League game last season speaks for itself.
The 21-year-old is incredibly consistent, is mature beyond his tender years and has a really special talent.
Rice has now established himself as a fully-fledged England international. The energetic, tenacious tackling midfielder is vitally important to the manner in which West Ham play.
Keeping hold of the 21-year-old will be absolutely key to West Ham’s hopes of achieving success over the next few years.
Selling him should not be an option, regardless of how much money we could make.
And it seems as though the Hammers are very keen to make that happen. The Daily Star reckons that the east London club are preparing a shiny new £120k-a-week long-term contract for Rice.
