According to Bleacher Report, Manchester United are not willing to pay anywhere near £70 million for West Ham ace Declan Rice. That is great news for the Hammers. And it could end up being a massive mistake from the 20-time league champions.

The 21-year-old has been superb for West Ham over the past two years. Since the start of the 2018/19 campaign, he has undoubtedly been the Hammers’ best and most consistent player.
And the seven-capped England international is incredibly important to David Moyes’s side.
The Standard claims that the Hammers might be interested in selling Rice, but for no less than £70 million.
The Daily Mail claimed last week that Manchester United, as well as Chelsea, want to sign the 21-year-old West Ham starlet.
And the mere fact that clubs like United and the Blues want the defensive midfielder will be a real worry for Hammers fans.
There is good news for the West Ham faithful, however.
Potential mistake from United?
Bleacher Report claims that Manchester United are not willing to pay anywhere near £70 million for Rice. And if that is the case, the Hammers surely won’t sell him.
But that could be a huge error from the Red Devils.
Sure, the ongoing global health crisis has had an adverse effect on football club’s finances. And £70 million is a lot of money in this current climate.
But in years to come, £70 million for Rice might just look like great value. He could easily become a £100 million plus player at some point in the future.
And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might live to regret not snapping up the West Ham star when he had the chance.
The 21-year-old’s numbers don’t lie.
Rice has made 100 appearances for the Hammers, racking up two goals and three assists in the process (Transfermarkt).
In 90 Premier League appearances for West Ham, the seven-capped England international has racked up 221 tackles, 140 interceptions, 165 clearances and 610 ball recoveries (premierleague.com).
David Moyes will surely want to keep hold of Rice this summer. He is the kind of player the Scot will want to build his West Ham team around.
And according to Bleacher Report, the Hammers might just be able to keep hold of the English ace. If they do indeed show some ambition and refuse to shift on their £70 million asking price.
