Alleged leaked fixtures claim West Ham have dream start but face tough early Liverpool trip

An alleged leaked fixture list claims West Ham have a dream start but face a tough early Liverpool trip next season.

West Ham, Liverpool and the other 18 Premier League sides will find out their fixtures for the 2022-23 season when it is officially announced on Thursday (June 16th).

But an alleged leaked fixture list is doing the rounds on social media which is catching the eye of fans of West Ham, Liverpool and their Prem rivals.

It must be stated that the fixtures – from an unknown source – are exactly as described above – an “ALLEGED LEAKED” fixture list.

Therefore West Ham and Liverpool fans must view them as such. They will not be confirmed until Thursday – at which point it will become clear whether they were legitimate or not.

The document has been widely published by tabloids such as The Sun. But it has also been debunked by The Athletic.

It claims West Ham start the season with a home game against newly-promoted Fulham before a trip to another newly-promoted side Bournemouth.

Liverpool meanwhile allegedly face Newcastle away before taking on Wolves at Anfield.

Liverpool reportedly travel to newly-promoted Nottingham Forest and then entertain Southampton.

West Ham and Liverpool then reportedly meet at Anfield for game five in the first weekend of September.

After that West Ham are said to be entertaining Aston Villa at home before a trip to Arsenal followed by Manchester United at home.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are said to then have tough early games against Spurs away, champions Man City at home and then Brighton away.

The Athletic has made a few salient points about the supposed fixture leak, though.

For one, no midweek fixtures were included on either list – which is peculiar considering the Premier League has played midweek matches ever since its inaugural 1992-93 season, and this year’s campaign is set to be the busiest on record because of the interruption caused by the first ever winter World Cup.

The list also ignores the first international break of the season, which is scheduled to take place in the final two weeks of September, with England due to take on Italy and Germany as the Nations League campaign comes to a close.

Therefore West Ham and Liverpool fans should take the list with more than a pinch of salt.

What a start that would be for West Ham, though – on paper at least.

Although it could be argued you want to avoid newly-promoted sides early on as they tend to have their tails up early on.

We will all find out in less than 48 hours anyway.
