93% pass accuracy, 7 ball recoveries and 3 blocks, West Ham star stands out in 1-0 defeat

West Ham United were very disappointing against Manchester United last night. There was one shining light, however. Declan Rice was at his brilliant best once again.

The 22-year-old Hammers ace has been truly outstanding this season.

In fact, he has been our best and most consistent player over the past two-and-a-half seasons.

Rice’s exceptional rise to the top over the past two years has seen him firmly establish himself in the England national team as well.

In fact, it could be argued that he is actually indispensable – priceless even.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the London Stadium over the past year.

It would take a massive bid to prise him away from West Ham, however. David Moyes recently told reporters that he wouldn’t sell Rice for £100 million.

Declan Rice posts tremendous numbers for West Ham against Manchester United

The defensive midfielder proved his credentials yet against last night.

He was absolutely everywhere against Man United and continued to drive West Ham on with a brilliant box-to-box display at Old Trafford.

Rice’s numbers were quite frankly spectacular last night.

From 61 passes, the 22-year-old record a 93% completion rate. He made seven ball recoveries, three blocks, won three from three tackles, one out of one aerial duel and five individual duels. He also wasn’t dribbled past once (Football Critic).

As good as those numbers ae, the thing with Rice is that they are far from unusual.

The England international produces stats like that week in, week out.

Rice is so vitally important to this West Ham team. Hopefully he stays at the London Stadium for the foreseeable future. Because life without Declan Rice doesn’t bear thinking about.
