Pablo Fornals put in yet another unconvincing performance for West Ham United away at Everton yesterday afternoon.
The caveat to that is that David Moyes persists in playing him out wide on the left.

The Spaniard is just not a left winger. He’s at his best when deployed centrally. So Moyes has to take some of the blame for Fornals’ poor form as well.
But the 26-year-old quite simply needs to do a lot more.
He has just one goal and one assist to his name in 10 Premier League games so far this season (Transfermarkt). That clearly is nowhere near good enough and his performance against Everton yesterday was one of his worst of the season so far.

It was surprising that it took Moyes until the 62nd minute to bring him off…
Pablo Fornals was terrible for West Ham against Everton yesterday
The 26-year-old signed for the Hammers for around £25 million in the summer of 2019 (The Telegraph).
He hasn’t quite hit the heights that were expected of him at the London Stadium and he has been particularly poor this season.
Yesterday’s performance away at Everton was simply inexcusable from the entire West Ham team. Fornals stood out as someone who was particularly poor though.
The 26-year-old had 51 touches and made only one key pass. He failed to attempt a single shot on goal and was dispossessed from possession three times (Who Scored).

Fornals didn’t attempt a single dribble and had two unsuccessful touches, where he lost possession (Who Scored).
The Spaniard has shown us in the past what he is capable of. And we’ll say it again, he is being hamstrung by the position that Moyes continually plays him in.
BUT…he just has to do so much better when he’s in possession of the football, and when he finds himself in dangerous positions in the final third.
Pablo Fornals needs to sharpen up…and fast, if he is to make any kind of meaningful impact for West Ham United this season.
