Domingos Quina scored the first professional goal of his career – and it was quite something.
The talented teenager joined the Hornets this summer for an undisclosed fee.
He was considered one of the brightest young prospects at the club, and many were disappointed to see him depart.
Quina was even interesting Barcelona at one point.
But he ended up moving across the city on transfer deadline day.
Quina is yet to appear in the Premier League for his new club, but made his first appearance in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash with Reading.
Quina scores first senior goal
The U19 Euro 2018-winner rewarded manager Javi Gracia’s faith by scoring a truly sensational goal.
The attacking midfielder picked up a loose ball from around 30 yards out.
He then confidently dribbled forward slightly and unleashed a piledriver of a left-foot shot.
The strike flew into the top right corner, leaving goalkeeper Sam Walker rooted to the spot.
Simply put, it is probably the goal of the season so far.
Will he get minutes at Vicarage Road?
Quina had some trouble breaking through to the West Ham first team before his move this summer.
Earlier this month Javi Gracia said (via the Watford Observer) that he believed Quina has ‘a great future’ ahead of him.
The Hornets have a lot of midfield options, but the 19-year-old is definitely a special talent.
Goal reaction
Quina’s goal helped Watford maintain their 100% start to the new season, with the Londoners winning 2-0 at the Madejski Stadium. After the game, some West Ham fans took to social media to comment on his wonder strike:
