West Ham United v Manchester City - Premier League

Video will have West Ham fans seriously excited about the prospect of £38m signing Arnaut Danjuma

A video will have West Ham United fans seriously excited about the prospect of £38m signing Arnaut Danjuma.

The Guardian and a host of other outlets have been reporting that West Ham are seriously interested in Dutch forward Danjuma.

David Moyes has long been a fan of the player since he tore Ben Johnson to ribbons in a pre-season game at the London Stadium a few years ago.

The Hammers were linked with Danjuma – who can play on both wings and is often used as a striker by Villarreal – before he left Bournemouth for Spain (The Sun).

The move did not materialise and Danjuma has been a huge hit at the Yellow Submarine, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in 23 games last season.

Danjuma has said he would love to return to England again one day and still has family here.

“I 100% enjoyed my time in England. Looking back now I no way appreciated it as much as I should have done when I lived there,” he said.

“For me, it’s just such a nice country to live in and I’m fluent in the language so that helps as well! I’m trying my best at Spanish as well. I’ve got family that still lives in England.

“In terms of the Premier League, it’s indescribable. The thing I will never forget in the Premier League is the fans. If you just walk into the stadium you cannot replicate the feeling of a Premier League game elsewhere in the world, it’s different.

“So in that regard you are always going to miss a bit of England. If I’m returning one day, I guess that’s up to the way I perform and what the future holds for me.”

Last month Danjuma’s agent Michale Moses told Radio Castellon a move could well be on the cards this summer.

“There is a 50 per cent chance that Danjuma will leave this summer,” Moses told Radio Castellon as transcribed by Football Espana.

Yahoo Sport claim the fee Villarreal want from West Ham for Danjuma is ‘expected to be around £38m’.

Some Hammers supporters may not be too familiar with Danjuma’s talents as he was injured for most of the season when Bournemouth were in the Premier League.

And now La Liga is no longer on terrestrial TV football fans in England are somewhat detached from the goings-on in Spain.

But a video will have West Ham fans seriously excited about the prospect of £38m signing Danjuma.

A 44-second clip of Danjuma producing some outrageous attacking intent and skill while playing for Holland has been posted on Twitter.

West Ham fans have been sharing the video and commenting on the alleged transfer target.

And the video has already been watched nearly 250,000 times.

There are shades of Said Benrahma about the skill Danjuma is pulling off. But he looks a lot stronger, more purposeful and direct than Benrahma.

The reported Moyes target leaves the opposition tied in knots in the way a certain Ryan Giggs used to.
