Pundit Stephen Warnock says ‘dangerous’ West Ham have plenty to be positive about after the ‘harsh’ Man City defeat.

West Ham proved they can give the best teams around a proper game despite the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.

The Hammers were leading 1-0 against the champions and treble winners at half-time.

But although Man City fought back to eventually win 3-1, West Ham certainly made Pep Guardiola’s side take the scenic route.

Make no mistake better teams than West Ham will be beaten much more emphatically than David Moyes’ men were at the London Stadium.

Stephen Warnock says ‘dangerous’ West Ham have plenty to be positive about after ‘harsh’ Man City defeat

And while letting the lead slip to lose always stings in the Premier League, West Ham can come out of the game with their heads high and chests puffed out.

Certainly according to one Sky Sports pundit speaking on Monday.

Stephen Warnock says ‘dangerous’ West Ham have plenty to be positive about after the ‘harsh’ Man City defeat.

Analysing the game on Sky Sports News at midday on Monday, Warnock was seriously impressed by West Ham.

‘They look so, so dangerous’

And he says the team have great things to be positive about from a game they could have drawn or won.

“I think when you think of a scoreline like 3-1 (it seems like you were well beaten),” Warnock said.

“It wasn’t (that). I mean it could’ve been 3-3, they (West Ham) could have even won the game themselves.

“The great thing from a West Ham point of view is that they’re creating opportunities and they look so, so dangerous going forward.

“At times last year there was a lack of creativity, I think he’s (Moyes) brought that in.

‘West Ham look a dangerous outfit, they look very impressive’

“I think the signings that he’s brought in using Declan Rice’s money have been outstanding.

“I think they’ve improved that area of the field, there’s strength in depth in those positions.

“We talk about (Jeremy) Doku being very early in his Manchester City career, but there are three or four players at West Ham who are very early in their (West Ham) careers but there are very promising signs early on.

“There was a lot of criticism about West Ham’s transfer business, how long it took. But it a long time to get the right players in. As long as you get the right players into the football club that’s the important thing.

“They look a dangerous outfit this year, they look very impressive. And there’s no shame in losing to Manchester City.”
