West Ham travel down to Brighton and Hove Albion tomorrow evening for a Premier League clash.

The Hammers, who have won three and drawn one in their last four, are hoping to inflict a third consecutive defeat on the hosts.

Tomorrow evening, all eyes will be on two wing wizards. Anthony Knockaert and Felipe Anderson are Brighton and West Ham’s respective danger men out wide.

But which one is edging the stats this season? We take a closer look (stats sourced from Premier League website).

Goals and assists

Both Anderson and Knockaert have one goal to their name this season.

Knockaert’s strike came against Tottenham Hotspur and proved to be a consolation. Anderson’s was last weekend against Manchester United.

The Brazilian produced a moment of magic to score with an innovative back-heel flick and open the scoring in West Ham’s 3-1 triumph.

But he is being shown up by the left-footed Brighton man in terms of assists.

Knockaert has set up three goals for team-mates, while Anderson is yet to get off the mark in that respect.

Passing

Anderson’s passing stats are far superior to Knockaert’s. Despite playing less minutes, the 25-year-old has made 298 passes compared to Knockaert’s 185.

Anderson even has a higher pass completion rate, at 76.85 per cent to Knockaert’s 74.05 per cent.

Other stats

Anderson has better ball retention than Knockaert. The Frenchman has been dispossessed 15 times this season, while Anderson has only been tackled six times.

Anderson’s tally of 475 touches also eclipses Knockaert’s 323.

And the former Lazio man is much better defensively, according to the stats.

Knockaert has made nine interceptions to Anderson’s 11 and 16 tackles to Anderson’s 25.

With four clearances, Anderson also trumps Knockaert’s tally of three.

Anderson gets up and down his flank, covering an average of 2.2km per game. Meanwhile, Knockaert only covers 1.39km per match on average.

Both players have two yellow cards to their name, although Knockaert has committed less fouls (six to Anderson’s 10).

But overall, Anderson comes out on top in most stats and just needs to start adding assists to his game to completely overtake Knockaert in this battle.
