West Ham United fans are used to scrambling for the TV remote when Alan Shearer is asked a question about the Hammers.
West Ham have not had anything to shout about over the last two months.
No wins in eight, Manuel Pellegrini’s job has been on the line.

Shock win prompts drastic change from Shearer
But a shock and deserved 1-0 victory over bitter rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge looks to have lifted the mood.
Match of the Day pundit Shearer pull no punches as he laid into West Ham last week.
Supporters were reeling after the defeat to Spurs and Shearer labelled the team a disgrace.
But it was a case of credit where it is due on both sides of the fence come Saturday night.
Shearer was full of praise for the Hammers on Match of the Day. It showed the Premier League goalscoring legend calls it as he sees it.

Legend calls it as he sees it
And that in itself should be commended.
Just seven days on from his dismantling of West Ham, Shearer heaped praise on the Hammers and offered his theory about Pellegrini.
Here is every word Shearer had to say on West Ham in his MOTD analysis.
“Rightly so last week (I was critical of West Ham) because there was a lack of fight, there was a lack of togetherness, but totally the opposite this week,” Shearer said on MOTD.

Shearer’s Pellegrini theory
“For what they lacked last week they more than made up for it in running and effort, for tracking back, for tackling (against Chelsea). It wasn’t all about defending, they had the chance of the (first) half, brilliant from Snodgrass.
“The goal (summed up) everything that was good about West Ham (Snodgrass’s effort and Cresswell’s 97-yard run to score the goal). As I said last week was dreadful and today was absolutely magnificent.
“Pellegrini obviously had harsh words in the week. And whatever he has said has worked because they were magnificent, and they deserved it.”
