Jamie Carragher claims West Ham United’s owners GSK have been emboldened by their David Moyes get out clause.
Going into Monday night’s drab 2-0 win over Bournemouth at the London Stadium, West Ham were sat 17th – just two points off the bottom three.
But victory elevated the Hammers seven places to 10th and into the top half of the Premier League for the first time this seson.
After a dismal start to the campaign, Moyes’ side have started picking up much-needed results even if performances are far from what West Ham fans want or expect.

Ahead of the start of the recent turnaround – a 2-0 win over Wolves – The Telegraph claimed Moyes was under pressure to keep his job.
Telegraph journalist Matt Law claimed Moyes was skating on thin ice and must oversee a sharp upturn in West Ham’s results to avoid the Hammers axe.
West Ham’s results have duly improved and meanwhile the likes of Bruno Lage and Steven Gerrard have lost their jobs while there is pressure mounting on others, including Jesse Marsch at Leeds.
West Ham are now within striking distance of the European mix and very much looking up rather than down.
And Sky Sports pundit Carragher believes owners David Sullivan, David Gold and Daniel Kretinsky may have acted differently with another manager in charge.
Carragher claims West Ham owners GSK have been emboldened by their Moyes get out clause.
The ex Liverpool star believes having Moyes as boss effectively means West Ham have a get out of jail free card if and when they ever find themselves struggling at the wrong end of the league.
And where other clubs panic and change managers, West Ham can remain calm.
“I just want to go back to David Moyes,” Carragher said on Monday Night Football.
“Yes they’ve jumped up the league, they started at 17th tonight and they’ve now gone to 10th.
“Now don’t forget a lot of teams who are around 17th/18th in the league have changed manager.

“Now what David Moyes has done, and he did at Everton is, because of his body of work and his experience in the Premier League and the quality he’s shown, it’s made a West Ham board – and it made an Everton board in the past when maybe sometimes they didn’t start the season well – they don’t panic.
“Because they’ve got David Moyes, whereas other teams are not (necessarily) panicking, (but) they make a change and think, you know, they could get relegated.
“That’s what David Moyes has done to West Ham. He’s made a board who people associate with sacking managers, doing strange things at different times (not panic).
“He’s almost calmed the whole club down because of the success he’s had in the past. The season hasn’t started exactly how they’d want to, but having David Moyes there I think reassure the supporters, the board and the players that they’ll always be ok.”
