Haller’s hip hampers Hammers

Indeed depending on results West Ham could find themselves second bottom by this evening.

David Moyes has been hampered since the restart by the loss of his only proven striker Sebastien Haller to a hip injury.

Haller has endured a torrid first season with West Ham.

Many put it down to the club mismanaging the striker. West Ham have played Haller as a lone striker despite the Frenchman proving himself a star player as part of a two or three man attack with previous clubs.

Others feel Haller does not impose his powerful frame enough and have questioned his attitude.

Zamora claims West Ham players feel Haller must toughen up

Speaking on Sky Sports’s live coverage Zamora claimed two current West Ham players have told him they feel Haller is not physical enough and is ‘too soft and must toughen up’.

Zamora also criticised Haller for not adapting his game for the Premier League following his record £45million move to West Ham.

The criticism has been a hot topic of conversation among West Ham fans on social media today.

Speaking on Twitter, reliable Hammers insider ExWHUemployee concurred with Zamora’s criticism, adding that the same accusations have been levelled at the striker on his West Ham Way podcast.

Insider delivers his verdict as striker gets backing

But Ex has backed Haller to be the difference between West Ham staying up or going down.

Hmm someone else has said this (that Haller’s teammates feel he must toughen up) on the podcast many times before based upon similar evidence,” ExWHUemployee said on Twitter.

“However I feel he could now be the difference between staying up and going down let’s face it he is the only natural forward, a £45m one at that, who is going to get a game!”
