West Ham fans saw the Aaron Cresswell of old in yesterday’s 3-0 win over Newcastle United.
The Hammers bounced back from a 4-0 loss against Manchester City and picked up all three points at St James’ Park.
There were a number of top performances with goal scorer’s Javier Hernandez and Felipe Anderson impressing.
And at the back, all four of the defenders had magnificent games for the Irons.
But considering his patchy form in the past two seasons, West Ham fans were delighted to see Cresswell back to his best.
The left-back area is the one which is concerning Manuel Pellegrini the most ahead of the January window.
The Chilean has not decided whether Cresswell or Arthur Masuaku is the better option at left-back.
But with Masuaku regularly costing West Ham goals with defensive errors, Cresswell was recalled for the Newcastle trip.
And although he came off with a slight injury in the second half, the 28-year-old impressed fans with solid defensive work and the ability to join attacks.
Has Cresswell solved Pellegrini’s problem position for him? Below are some opinions from West Ham fans.

Agreed, Cress put a shift in today

Cresswell t his best was in a defensive formation under Sam. Sitting back & counter attacking suits him far more imo

And still Dont think Masuaku can defend

Knows how to defend, agree he’s not been as good as past years and hasn’t got the pace against the quickest, but he’s normall solid

So sad for Cress, best game he’s had in years and to get that injury must be infuriating
Come back soon Cress ❤️⚒ @Aaron_Cresswell
