It’s been a difficult start to the season for the Hammers but I think it’s time we look at the positives but not necessarily with the first team. We have an amazing under 21’s squad and a few in particular I think have the potential to be real future stars hopefully for the club.
To start with Leo Chambers he’s played in a few of our Capital Cup games and has been amazing, he is a strong defender who’s looked solid in every performance and not made many mistakes. Leo made appearances for England under 16, 17, 18 and 19’s, so we can see already he’s been picked up from a young age. I think Chambers could be really good for West Ham in the future and I really hope he gets his chance in the Premier League team soon, with our defence being so good it will be hard to get into the team but if he keeps putting in the performances like he did in the Cup games there’s no reason why he can’t.
Elliot Lee in my opinion is West Ham’s best striker at the moment due to the Andy Carroll injured, I know he’s young but I believe he really should be playing and I know he’s on loan to get some experience which will do him good but he would be better than Cole and Petric and Maiga. I think he has so much potential and fits in well with the team. He is certainly one for the future that I would look out for.
Sebastian Lletget and Blair Turgott are the other two players I think we should be looking out for, both with great potential and bring a lot of energy and pace to our games. Sebastian is a very talented attacking midfielder and our very own USA star who I think could do wonders for the club and Blair is a winger who’s had the experience of being out on loan for a while and come back stronger and from what I hear is doing well for the under 21’s.
Our under 21’s are currently top of the table and I’m sure we are all very proud of them and excited about what they could do for the first team West Ham in the years to come.
