Luke Garrard previews ‘massive’ cup final against West Ham U21s
Luke Garrard previewed the cup final after Boreham Wood’s 3-2 defeat to Halifax Town in the National League on Saturday.
He described the National League Cup final as a “massive” game, which his players are “desperate” to win in front of a home crowd at Meadow Park.
“Yeah, it’s huge, massive. It’s going to be a great occasion,” Garrard said on the club’s Instagram. “It’s something that we’ve obviously targeted from the start of the competition. We’re really grateful to be in it.

“Our friends at West Ham are going to be coming down. With regard to playing them, we know how tough that will be. We’re going to do work on them now to get a plan together.
“It’s going to be some occasion, and we’re desperate to win the game, so please go and get your tickets. Let’s go and put a trophy on the table with a positive end to the season.”
West Ham’s young players should not be scared, but they must not expect a walkover against their National League opposition.
It would be an impressive testament to their character if they could go away and bring the cup back to the London Stadium.
