West Ham United have plenty of seriously talented young players amongst our ranks right now.

The West Ham academy is one of the most highly revered in the country, and for good reason.

The Hammers have produced the likes of Bobby Moore, Martin Peters, Sir Trevor Brooking, Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole and more recently Declan Rice.

Now, we have an incredible group of young players coming through the ranks right now, with many of the youngsters looking ready to play senior football already.

The likes of Ollie Scarles, Lewis Orford, George Earthy and Kaelan Casey are receiving most of the attention right now.

However, there are plenty more youngsters who are going under the radar somewhat.

And one of them shone for England’s under-18’s out in Marbella last night…

Airidas Golambeckis, 16, is being hotly tipped to reach the very highest level of the game.

He has already bagged two goals in five games for West Ham’s under-18s this season – not bad for a central defender.

And he was on the score-sheet for England’s under-18s last night, during their 3-1 win over Ukraine’s under-19s in Marbella, Spain.

Golambeckis was born in Lithuania, but holds English citizenship, and he has absolutely everything needed to make it at the very highest level of the game.

The teenager possesses exceptional technical ability and has energy, stamina and ball-carrying ability in abundance.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he evolves into a central midfielder, just like Declan Rice did when he made the jump up to the first team more than seven years ago.

Airidas Golambeckis is one of the standout players in the West Ham under-18s right now.

And his exploits for England last night proved that he has what it takes to perform on an even bigger stage than he already has been.
