West Ham youngster Anthony Scully scored yet again last night as the youth team were beaten by Wolfsburg B.
It was a topsy-turvy encounter in East London last night as Wolfsburg returned to Germany with three points. They claimed a 3-2 win against West Ham U21s in the Premier League International Cup.
Joe Powell fired West Ham into the lead in the first half as his free-kick evaded everyone. Wolfsburg reversed the score to make it 2-1. Then, before half-time, Powell’s free-kick found Scully to volley home an equaliser.
Scully in the first-team?
Although Wolfsburg scored a late winner, West Ham fans wanted to talk about Scully. The 20-year-old has been on fire this season since moving from attacking midfield to a centre-forward role.
Few would have predicted Scully’s success as a striker. The versatile youngster has now scored a stunning total of 12 goals in his last nine matches for the U23s. This is not a tally that goes unnoticed.
With West Ham struggling for depth in the striker department, the Republic of Ireland youth international has shown why he deserves a shot. Here are some West Ham fans discussing Scully’s first-team prospects.
Yet there’s no real mention of him for our first but a lot of clamour for Holland..

Potential loan move for him? Would be a shame for another prospect to not have a chance
