Nuno Espirito Santo will surely be keeping tabs on the West Ham youngsters, especially George Earthy and his performances in the Under-21s games.

The Portuguese manager may have to turn to some of the prospects in the coming weeks, as he’ll be losing players due to the AFCON and there’s also a period when they will have to play four times in 10 days.

Currently, West Ham are in grave relegation danger and promoting a couple of the youngsters may be exactly what Nuno needs to take this team forward.

George Earthy continues to impress for the West Ham United Under-21s

George Earthy continued his rich vein of form for the Hammers Under-21s side on Tuesday night.

The young Irons took on a senior Colchester side in a Football League Trophy Round of 32 game.

Earthy shone, scoring the winning goal and footage emerged of his goal.

George Earthy certainly is the best young prospect at West Ham. What more does he need to do for Nuno to give him game time?

The midfielder controlled the pass from Emeka Adiele, moved it from one foot to another and coolly slotted it into the back of the net.

The 21-year-old has been in terrific form and it’s hard for Nuno to see past him ahead of the busy festive period.

Earthy has been shining for West Ham’s Under-21s over the past weeks and this goal showcases why he’s ready to be given regular minutes off the bench in the next few games.

Which West Ham youngster are you most EXCITED about and why? 🌱

And who is the club's best-ever academy graduate?

Why Earthy’s style of play suits the West Ham first team

Rather than being a powerhouse, Earthy is more of a compact and agile attacking midfielder who’s able to play between the lines.

At 5ft 11in, he’s certainly not the shortest and when push comes to shove, he is capable of showing opponents he’s not messing around.

He’s extremely two-footed and has a low centre of gravity, which makes him extremely hard to mark.

Nuno could bring him on against tired legs and his constant movement would certainly annoy opposition defenders.

The 21-year-old is also capable of finding the back of the net, unlike a number of senior midfielders, which can instantly make him stand out from the rest.
