West Ham United youngster Ezra Mayers is having a rather interesting season this time around.
Mayers is one of West Ham’s most exciting young players and, such has been his progress of late, he’s even been afforded a first-team debut this season.
The 19-year-old has already made five Premier League appearances during this campaign, while he also impressed during the FA Cup win over QPR earlier this month.

Mayers has praised the West Ham fans for their support during what has been a miserable season for the team, and one that could yet see them suffer relegation.
If they do, however, perhaps young talents such as Mayers offer something of a platform upon which to build going forward.
Splitting his time between senior level and the youth ranks, Mayers has again been left impressed by the Irons faithful.
Ezra Mayers praises West Ham fans after U21 game
Mayers captained West Ham’s U21 side in their National League Cup semi-final win over Boston on Tuesday night.
Regular skipper Airidas Golambeckis was missing through injury but the Hammers still found a way to progress and emerged as 2-1 winners.
Speaking to West Ham’s official website after the game, Mayers admitted he was slightly surprised to see some Irons fans all the way up in Lincolnshire on a Tuesday night for a game at youth level.

“I was quite surprised when I walked out, and then when we scored, there were quite a lot of West Ham fans shouting in the crowd, which is always nice,” he said. “Every time you play in one of these Under-21s fixtures, it’s quite rare for us to play in that kind of environment.
“It was a great experience and occasion overall, having way more fans in the crowd. The support behind the team was brilliant.”

When West Ham U21s will be playing in the National League Cup semi-finals
The senior side may not be giving fans a lot to shout about this season, but perhaps there can yet be success at youth level.
That win over Boston sent the young Hammers into the final four of the National League Cup.
Interestingly, West Ham are actually the only developmental squad left in the tournament at this stage of the competition.
That does speak to a strength in the youth ranks, which may one day translate into first team success.
The West Ham academy remains strong and they will play either Boreham Wood, Truro City or Tamworth on Tuesday 17th or Wednesday 18th February to win a place in the final.
