West Ham joint-owner David Gold has praised Nathan Holland on Twitter.
Gold told his followers that Holland had scored twice for West Ham’s U23 team in the 4-0 win at Stoke City. The young Hammers have won all but one of their games this season and Holland has been in fine form.
This continued at the bet365 Stadium against a Stoke side with a handful of senior players in the line-up. West Ham’s youngsters were not intimidated and stormed to a 4-0 victory.
Holland once again staked a first-team claim with a brace while Joe Powell scored from 35 yards out. Anthony Scully wrapped it up late on for the Irons, although he did not get a mention from Gold.
On Twitter, Gold said: “Nathan Holland scored twice as West Ham United maintained their unbeaten start to the PL2 Division 2 with a 4-0 win at Stoke City Joe Powell opened the scoring with a 35-yard lob before Holland made it 2-0 after 11 mins. Hammers stay top, three points ahead of Man United. dg”
Nathan Holland set for first-team promotion?

Holland has certainly put his hat in the ring for a space in West Ham’s senior squad this weekend. The 21-year-old has scored seven goals in 10 competitive games for the U23 team this season, as well as finding the net three times in friendlies.
With pace, skill and a direct approach, Holland is constantly creating chances for his team-mates and getting into positions to score. The ex-Everton man could be doing that in the Hammers first-team.
Manuel Pellegrini gave Holland a chance against Oxford United in the EFL Cup. Given the lack of speedy wingers on the bench for West Ham, Holland might be promoted for the match against Sheffield United.
