Silva joined West Ham from Vitoria Guimaraes in the summer and immediately endeared himself to fans by hitting a hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur in an under-23 game.

The Portugal youth international had five goals in five games to his name before suffering an injury.

Injury cost him his chance

Just before West Ham faced Macclesfield Town in the EFL Cup, Silva suffered a hamstring injury.

This ultimately cost him his place in the line-up and gifted a chance to Grady Diangana, who has gone on to become a first-team regular.

After two months out, Silva made his return with a 50-minute cameo against Blackburn.

And his two goals have West Ham fans excited to see him in the first-team. Below are some tweets discussing Silva’s latest display.
