One of West Ham United’s most talented young players joined in first-team training at Rush Green yesterday afternoon.
The West Ham academy is well-renowned for being one of the very best in the business.
West Ham are well renowned for bringing through some of the most talented young players in England.
‘The Academy of Football‘ was a moniker given to the Hammers initially by the British press, after we produced the likes of Bobby Moore, Martin Peters and Sir Geoff Hurst in the 60’s.
More recently, the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick, Mark Noble and Declan Rice have all come through the Hammers academy.
And currently, West Ham have the likes of Lewis Orford, George Earthy, Freddie Potts, Josh Ajala and Ollie Scarles amongst our ranks.

All of those youngsters are immensely talented, but Scarles is arguably the standout.
The 18-year-old has been involved in numerous first-team sessions under Julen Lopetegui already, and the sky really is the limit for him.
Scarles can play anywhere on the pitch, and has all of the attributes needed to succeed at the very highest level of the game.
Ollie Scarles filmed training hard during intense first-team session
The teenage Hammer worked hard during the off-season to bulk up, in order to ensure that he was ready to compete in the Premier League if called upon.
That proves that he has the work ethic to go along with his incredible and undeniable talent.
It still remains to be seen whether we see him in action for the senior side this season.
As things stand, it looks like he definitely has a chance of forcing his way into the side.
Scalres already looks like the real deal, and he looked the part in first-team training yesterday.
He can be seen competing really hard with the senior players during an intense training session at Rush Green yesterday, via the club’s official YouTube channel.
Ollie Scarles is the future for West Ham
The 18-year-old possesses exceptional technical ability, and has the kind of explosive pace needed to succeed in the Premier League.
He is a left wing-back by trade, but can also operate in central midfield or even up front.
Scarles plays with a really mature head, considering his tender years.
He recently signed a new long-term deal that will keep him at the London Stadium for many years still to come.
I really hope that Lopetegui gives Ollie Scarles a chance to show us all what he’s capable of in the West Ham first-team this season.
The fact that he’s already training with the first-team bodes very well for him indeed.
