ExWHUemployee has claimed that Watford’s Craig Dawson is still the preferred centre-back choice for West Ham. And Preston man Ben Davies is allegedly another potential option.
The Hammers insider has claimed that there could be movement on both of these today.
We really are desperate for some central defensive additions at the moment.
All the talk is currently about Brentford ace Said Benrahma and Bournemouth forward Josh King, however.
Whilst either of those would be great additions for us, David Moyes will surely be desperate to bring in another defender as a priority.
Defender search heats up
The Guardian reported last night that West Ham are now expected to sign Watford defender Craig Dawson for around £4 million.
Whilst The Sunday Mirror (October 11th, page 73) claims that £10 million-rated Preston ace Ben Davies is on the Hammers’ radar.
And ExWHUemployee has suggested on Twitter yesterday that there could be movement on both of those potential deals today:
Dawson still remains the preferred choice. With Davies and others back up options to him! Movement could happen tomorrow on these. https://t.co/N5Woz0hiLq

Whilst Dawson or Davies wouldn’t be the most exciting of additions, bringing both of them to the London Stadium would be a wise move from David Moyes.
Dawson isn’t as bad as everyone is making out and Davies impressed last term for Preston.
If we manage to bring both to the club, as well as someone like Benrahma, maybe it wouldn’t be the worst transfer window after all.
