West Ham United have been deep in talks with Southampton regarding the potential signing of James Ward-Prowse since yesterday.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, West Ham are really keen to get a deal done for Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse by this weekend at the latest.

The East London outfit recently had a £30 million bid for the 28-year-old Saints skipper rejected, but haven’t given up hope of signing him.

Hammers manager David Moyes obviously needs to strengthen his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium before the summer transfer window slams shut.

According to the Daily Mail, the Hammers are currently deep in talks to sign the English midfielder from Southampton.

If we can get a deal done for him at the right price, he will undoubtedly be a strong addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium.

Ward-Prowse, 28, is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and has been described as a ‘brilliant’ player by The Athletic.

He possesses truly unbelievable technical ability from set-pieces – arguably the very best in world football.

The Daily Mail reckon that £32 million might actually be enough for West Ham to get a deal done for James Ward-Prowse.

And if that is indeed the fee that Southampton are demanding for the 28-year-old, there’s no reason for the Hammers not to push this one through.
