West Ham’s quest for a striker has led them to line up a shock move for Stoke City outcast Mame Biram Diouf, according to reports.

As per The Sun’s deadline day live blog [10:53AM], West Ham, Burnley and Hull City are eyeing a loan move for Diouf.

West Ham’s striker search

West Ham could get rid of one of their strikers by tonight’s deadline and bring in a new forward on loan.

Real Betis and Schalke have been linked with Lucas Perez (Sky Sports News). Meanwhile Javier Hernandez is wanted by Valencia, according to Sky Sports News.

A number of strikers have been linked with West Ham, including Michy Batshuayi (Sky Sports News) and Olivier Giroud (The Mirror).

But a new name has popped up: Stoke’s fringe player Diouf.

Diouf has been with Stoke since 2014, having previously played for Manchester United and Hannover 96.

The 31-year-old scored 23 Premier League goals in four seasons with the Potters, operating as a centre-forward, winger and even as a wing-back.

But this season, he has struggled in the Championship. The Senegal international has failed to find the net in nine appearances for Stoke this term.

This seems like a bizarre potential signing and Diouf would almost certainly be a downgrade on the current options.
